Don't Let Our State Become Donald Trump's Prison Colony!
In July of 2025, Findings from a FOIA request by the ACLU unveiled that ICE plans to expand their internment infrastructure by opening six additional privately owned and operated, for-profit prisons in Colorado. These companies earn their revenue via a per diem, per detainee fee collected from taxpayer dollars. Their profit incentive is to detain as many people as possible, while operating at the lowest possible operating costs.
People interned in these prisons are not required due process, are subjected to inhumane conditions and are not required to be charged with any crime in order to be imprisoned indefinitely.
Three companies are prepared already to begin operations in Colorado: GEO, CoreCivic, and Baptiste.
GEO is already operating one facility in Aurora, CO where they have received numerous allegations of abuse and illegally denied Colorado’s elected officials from conducting oversight visits. Despite eventually being granted limited entry, our elected officials admit their questions regarding abuses remain largely unanswered.
